Smith Cattle Company was established in 1984 by Mike Smith with a purchase of a ranch in New Mexico, which led into the Feedyard business and the purchase of many more ranches in Texas, Oklahoma, and Mexico over the next 38 years. Included in these ranches, that are part of the Northern Division, are the historical LS Ranch, Quien Sabe Ranch and several others that have been put back together under one fence West and South of Channing, TX, with 30 plus miles of the Canadian River running through the heart of the ranch. In the last couple of years, Smith has added the historic Swenson Flattop Ranch in Stamford, TX, as well as the Waurika, OK, Division. There are also multiple ranches in our Southern Division that stretch from Waco to Mt. Pleasant. Smith Cattle Company, Northern Division, is a cow/calf operation that produces Angus and Charolais breeding bulls for all of Smith's 15,000 head commercial cow herd. All ranch calves are retained and grazed on wheat at our Waurika, OK, Rosebud, NM, Stamford, TX, and Jericho, TX Ranches.
