There comes a time each summer at some point when the days are long and hot, that one gets to thinking ahead to fall. Kids have started back to school, cooler weather is around the corner and it’s easy for the mind to drift to thoughts of football, Thanksgiving and Christmas. For many Stock Show exhibitors and competitors, thoughts turn to entering shows, competitions and judging contests. There’s an added urgency, this year, for rodeo ticket buyers, too. Tickets to rodeo and Mustang Magic go on sale September 13. Two days later the Premium List goes live on the Show’s website and entries for livestock, horses, poultry, pigeons and rabbits begin a slow trickle into the Stock Show office only to become a near torrent just prior to the entry deadlines later in the fall. All in preparation for the public event that has been eagerly anticipated year after year for more than a century; matter of fact this will be our 125th Show. Although none of them are, the 2022 Show definitely won’t be ordinary. Fans, contestants and exhibitors will have waited two years to experience rodeo in the amazing Dickies Arena, two years to see the Grand Champion Steer crowned, two years for carnival midway, two years for a corndog topped off with a dollop of mustard that you enjoy while strolling exhibit hall aisles casually looking for that new treasure. Two years since you experienced that wonderful jolt of excitement and joy on a crisp January day when you first step on the grounds of the Will Rogers Memorial Center. All we can say is we can’t wait to welcome you back!!! So come January 14, get ready to rise and shine for what gives our city that awesome vibe and feel that’s uniquely Fort Worth – rise and shine at the legendary Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo.
